So, here I am, back again!

A while back, I ran this blog as a site, as a subsidiary of my domain name, which I had free-for-life-I-thought hosting from my old boss at Team Media, the ISP where I worked for a while over ten years ago. But back around 2010, Blogger decided to stop letting bloggers publish via FTP—which meant I would have to change over to a domain name, which I didn’t want to do at the time. And I was getting really busy writing for TeleRead anyway, so I didn’t exactly worry too much about it.

More recently, Team Media is now under new ownership, and they noticed I was getting a free ride and took down the domain. It wasn’t really much of a loss, as I wasn’t using it for anything beyond a mirror of my out-of-date homepage and hosting for a blog I no longer published to anyway. But given that TeleRead recently moved its site over to WordPress hosting, meaning I was suddenly working with WordPress a lot more closely, it occurred to me that I could easily rescue the content from the old blog and move it to a WordPress blog instead.

And with a little helpful advice from my friend Nate Hoffelder of The Digital Reader, I did just that. (Nate’s offering his services as a professional WordPress admin, by the way. Check him out—he really knows his stuff!) So here it is. If you go to the main page of my blog, currently but soon also to be once the DNS changes propagate, you can see all the old posts linked below. It even rescued three comments I had received to my old blog posts!

That being said, I’m not too sure what I’ll put here, or how regularly I’ll update. Still, if you want to be sure you don’t miss whatever pearls of wisdom I drop here, you can add it to your RSS reader in the usual way.

Glad to be back. I wonder if I can find other interesting things to write about?
